So I have a movie - The Jungle Book (1967) in mp4 format on my datastore (Drobo 5N). Plex sees it no problem, plays it with no problems, metadata all good etc. etc…
I have three users in the System - myself (the Admin), my wife and my kids. Now the movie shows up under both my profile and my wife’s profile but it does not show up under the kids profile. To complicate matters, it used to show up under the kids profile until a couple of weeks ago. That was when I built a new Plex server (Windows 10 VM) and migrated to that box… The Kids’ profile is restricted to PG13 and less so it shouldn’t be a rating issue but to be honest, this is where I think the problem may lie, nothing else seems to make sense.
Is it missing from all Plex apps your kid profile might use?
If when under the kids profile and use search does it show up in search results?
Tried changing the rating on the movie to something else? Like from G to PG
Have you tried removing rating restrictions from their account, save, then add it back
Usually when I see stuff like this it is a filter being set, or, as you mentioned, something off with restrictions.
Got it! Thanks Man. I knew I had been staring at this for too long. Problem was the Rating for the movie was ‘Approved’ but somehow that tag had been removed. Re-added the tag and we’re good to go.
