Any idea what is going on here. Had to rebuild the Plex server and many (if not most) movies are titled incorrectly. It seems to not be naming based on file name. IE - 5 Flights Up (2014) shows as 5.Flights.Up.2014.720p…
Plex is picking up either the file name or metadata embedded in the file.
Check your agents. If you’re using Local Media Assets, either drag it to the bottom or disable it, then refresh the metadata. If a metadata refresh does not work, then try Plex Dancing one of the files.
PMS Settings -> Agents -> Movies -> Plex Movie
PMS Settings -> Agents -> Movies -> The Movie Database
If you’ve TV shows, check same under Agents -> Shows.
Delete any undesirable metadata inserted by the download location. Check names for video & audio tracks, not just Title field. Also look for any attachments and delete them as well.
Use the Header Editor in MKVToolNix for MKV files. I think Mp3tag works for MP4 files. If you’re using a Mac, use Subler for MP4 files.
