hope this is the right place to post this, perhaps this should be in Bugs for Plex9 but I thought i would provide feedback to help with the Freebase movie scanner.
I recently killed my plex install so I had to rescan everything again. I had to manually “Fix incorrect match…” a whole bunch of my movies for the following reasons
- My movie file was called, for example: waynes world - would not get added to the library unless it was called wayne’s world, scanner found nothing for waynes world, had to add the ’ … Same with Youve got mail, have to add an ’
- Year One would only scan if it was Year one (no capital on “one”)
- The Highlander would have to be changed to Highlander even though when found it is called “The” Highlander - Varios variation of this with other films
I have not looked into how scanning is done in plex yet, but in XBMC it was done using regex which was case insensitive, it seems plex is case sensitive.
The issue with the apostrophe is also evident in TheTVDB scanner for shows such as Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe etc. None of my files have or ever will have and apostrophe so will never scan unless i manually add them.
