Since last week, my users and I have not been able to play trailers on any of our devices, including web, iOS, and Apple TV. I honestly hadn’t noticed this issue in a while because I don’t usually view trailers, so I don’t know if this issue is limited to the latest releases of PMS.
I’m able to play trailers without issues on Windows PMS running 1.24.0.4897. Sounds like your server is having issues accessing the site where we gather the trailers from. Do you have some sort of firewall that only allows access to whitelisted IPs?
If not, please reproduce, then grab your server logs and post them here so I can look what is going on.
I see the request for the trailer. The request itself is correct and it works for me. It looks like something on your system is blocking/intercepting the request. Are you running a firewall/reverse proxy/VPN?
I have not changed any settings, though I might as well look for anything that might be interfering with the request. Is there a particular address i should be looking at whitelisting if that’s the case?
Glad that worked for you! In my case, I realized it had something to do with the time set on my server. The time was off by a couple of minutes and that caused some timeout issue (not really sure exactly what) with the extras server. Anyway, changed my time settings and it worked.
