Movie Unavailable after adding local extras

Been trying to figure out extras, ripped one of my dvds and finally got some featurettes to come up, unfortunatey plex wont allow the video to play with the other 2 video files in folder. Filing as follows:

movies/D/1080p/Dark Places (2015) “this is containing folder for movie file as well as local meta data and artwork”/Featurettes “2 Featurettes from disc are in this folder without the -featurette extension” when extension is added to extra file in Featurettes folder extras won’t come up. also tried to just place them inside main movie folder with extension and same problem exists. any idea what im doing wrong?

If in doubt, Plex Dance the offending files. If you rename ANY file in a location where Plex is watching, Plex notices that, but will not re-match the file. Follow the steps in the Plex Dance article. (hehe, this forum automatically makes a link out of the words plex dance. plex dance. *teehee*)
*embarrased cough*

  • Move the files out of the location, rename them (if they aren’t named with the proper “-featurette” label.
  • Click the triple dot next to the library, select Scan Library. This lets Plex notice they are gone.
  • Click the triple dot next to the library, point at Manage Library, select Empty trash. This will erase all/most traces of the files existence.
  • The dance suggests you Clean Bundles here, but I don’t do that unless a file is being particularly sticky.
  • When you re-add the files with the proper name, Plex should now properly fill them as extras (fingers crossed).

By the looks of your “Media Info”, two featurettes for the movie got improperly matched as “duplicates” of the movie itself, rather than extra files.
