Movie with same name in multiple libraries shows up multiple times in "Continue Watching" on dashboard

I have 1080p movies in a different library than 4K movies. When I play a movie in either library, two entries for the same movie show up in the dashboard:

I saw this topic in an old post on this forum and it was closed without a proper resolution. The stated resolution was to exclude one of the libraries form the dashboard, but that isn’t a real solution. Can’t this be fixed?

The only resolution is to match each Movie with a different agent.
You get 3 shots at it.
Fix Match/Search Options/TMDB
Fix Match/Search Options/Plex Movie
Fix Match/Search Options/Personal Media - Hand Edit <—maybe your last agent and last chance.

When they’re both matched under the same agent - you see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try that, but it seems like a poor way to handle this. Seems like this would be a trivial fix to make in the software. The movies are different assets in each library, just sharing similar metadata. The server must know which one is being played, so it could be modified to only show the proper asset in the dashboard.

Well, you’re right, but considering it’s been handled ‘poorly’ like this for way more than a decade - the chances of it doing something different any time soon aren’t very good.
