Plex is really good at recognizing files appropriately, but it’s not 100%. All the videos I get go in the exact same folder where Plex searches for both TV shows and movies. Most are recognized and organized correct, but I have a few movies that are recognized as both (Frozen, Enders Game).
Is there a way I can remove them from the TV shows list without moving the files or deleting them?

Thanks I had already looked at both of these and the problem is then the “movies” library wouldn’t read them either. I want these particular files to be available under movies but not TV shows.
Why would you not simply have two folders, one of film and one for TV?

There is a server in the basement with no mouse, keyboard, or monitor. It’s just a server that I can remote into to download the video files. The place I get my files requires a user to upload at a 1:1 ratio so I’m unable to move the files until that happens, and the way I get the video files places them all in 1 folder until otherwise moved.
I don’t want to have to move all the files because Plex already organizes the files so well and it feels like unnecessary work. Of all the files I have only 3 are having this false identification happen
Instead of moving the files, why don't you copy them into the "correct" location for Plex until you reach the 1:1 ratio and then delete the originals.
If you do not follow the naming guidelines then plex can get confused sometimes.
You could also try editing the scanner definitions but I have never tried that so not sure how difficult it would be to update them.
When I change the video files to be named properly for Plex they show up in movies and not in TV shows. I’ll just make sure To download the files with the proper naming from now on.
This was so long ago I’m not sure you figured it out or not, but if you add the same folder twice (once under films, once under tv shows) the relevant movies and shows will only pop up in their relevant feeds. So say you have a tvshows folder and a movies folder, also a download folder.
You create a movies section in plex, and add “movies” and “downloads” folders to it.
Then you create a tv shows section in plex, and add “tvshows” and “downloads” to it.
Now you have them show in the correct plex section and everything is added automatically before you copy them anywhere.
This strategy will fall flat on its nose when there are naming duplicates or mismatches between tv shows and movies.
Definitely not recommended.

Been using it loke this for a year.
No duplicates, no naming issues.
Then again, maybe I’m just lucky.
