Multi channel audio broken in new linux desktop app

Many of my video files do not work correctly in the new plex linux desktop app, but work in the old plex-media-player. It appears that any video that has multi channel audio (EAC3 5.1 for example) plays background noises and music at a normal level, but the voice channel is inaudible or only audible if I turn the volume way up and then everything else is way too loud.

You need to change the audio settings in the app to match your setup. In particular set the audio device, the number of output channels, and the passthrough options.
