Multiple collections, and items in cross collections

Sadly that’s not possible.
In the current implementation of Plex, the option to show items in 1 collection overrules any options to hide them in other collections. There’s a feature suggestion to change that but Plex have previously commented the current approach was designed that way on purpose.

Collection Display Issue

It’s not a full feature request but there seems to be some issue with current per collection viewing rule for current implementation. For example, The Return of the King is part of Lord of the Rings collection as well as Oscar Best Picture collection in my case. I’d rather hide individual items for Lord of the Rings collection. But I don’t want to do the same for movies on Oscar Best Picture collection for obvious reasons. This creates two conflicting collection rules, resulting Return of the…

You can currently only “trick” Plex by using a smart collection. Those don’t interfere with the visibility options of regular collections
