I have locast tied in through locast2plex and it works just fine, however I would like to be able to use some streaming sources through xTeVe which are available through the EPG of my local cable provider. If I could just add a second device with a different EPG source this would be cake.
Another potential option - would it be possible to get a combined EPG of every channel from every provider with pseudo channel numbers and perhaps a way to map those to the channel numbers we want?
Having just paid for a plex pass I wanted to add to this thread that this is a much needed feature.
Just tried to add channels from my tuner and loads are missing in plex.
Does anybody know if this is on the horizon? Even having the ability to map to a channel of āNO EPGā so you can see the channel number but no guide would be an improvement!
Iāve tried a few XMLEPG options, which can be used to combine multiple EPGās but always seem to revert to the embedded Plex EPGās, as the content is presented perfectly.
The dream ticket will be able to use HDHomeRun (UK) + xTeVe with either a single combined Plex EPG or be able to switch between multiple Plex EPGās.
Just spent an evening setting up dizqueTV (which works amazing, BTW), with a couple of channels comprised of random media. The excitement built upā¦until I tried to āAdd Deviceā on my DVR, next to my WinTV-dualHD OTA Tuner. And then total disappointment to find that I canāt add my new XMLTV channels along w/ my Broadcast channels. There is no āextraā Guide setup when you already have Locals set up.
I even went through the install and setup of xTeVe, but ran into the same wall. This makes NO sense to me! Here is my vote to add, what seems like, a simple XML addition to a currently running Local Broadcast guide.
Hello
I am a paying Plex pass user for years now.
The request to be able to have 2 tuners with different epg has about 4 years. 4 years.
How is possible that this is not implemented yet?
āBetter later than neverā is not a good way to keep your customers satisfied.
This is a feature that most media servers/players do from scratch (emby, channels dvr, kodi, etc. etc.)
If this is not implemented soon I will cancel my subscription because itās ridiculous that lots and lots of users ask for a feature and you simply never implemented it.
You have to remove all devices as if you are setting up for the first time.
Open a new tab so that you have one window for each tuner you want to add. each tab should display as if you are setting up the DVR for the first time.
Add one tuner per tab.
The result will be multiple āLive TV & DVRā sections, one for each tuner with its own separate EPG.
While this hack works, it can easily have issues down the road., Troubleshooting this usually requires you to delete a tuners and start all over again.
The other work around is to use xTeve as the way to manage your multiple EPGs.
That is correct, but stability wise it hasnāt been great lately. It seems with the most recent server updates it causes the server to crash doing this method:(.
I mean all that needs to be done for multiple sources is add multiple Live TV libraries like you can add multiple TV Shows libraries, or multiple Movies libraries. Have one Live TV library run on any number of tuners/DVRs contributing to the same program guide. Then have another Live TV run on the other Tuners running on the other program guide.
Or even the ability to change the names of the libraries for a start. The work around is a start better than nothing but it would be a start with renaming live TV/ DVR
Itās being worked on. Somewhere way above an employee reached out to let us know and Iāve been in contact with him since then. He wonāt give an ETA , but he is working on it and hopefully itāll be out soon.
If you guys would like follow me there, as soon as it gets released or I have more info Iāll put it on there. Please donāt bother him as theyāre short-staffed as it is. But questions can be posted there.
