When the skip track button is used, the skipped song still plays in the background (at a lower volume) as the next track is played. Repeatedly skipping tracks results in multiple streams being playing over top of each other in the background. The background tracks will play through their entirety.
Pressing pauses causes all tracks to pause. Pressing play resumes all of the tracks, resuming the background noise. The only way to fix is to restart the app completely.
This has been reported in various forms, multiple times over the last few years as an issue. For example: here on the Plex forums, as well as on Reddit and other places.
On both my iPhone and iPad, this happens so much that I am unable to skip tracks without causing the issue regularly.
On my Roku and desktop (web) versions, the issue does not exist.
Is there somewhere to go to report this as a bug so that it gets fixed because it makes the apps almost unusable except for passive listening.

THIS THIS THIS… Ongoing for a long time. Same exact issue and seems to happen only when using playlists. It’s very frustrating to have to force close and load the app again just to get it to play normal for a few more songs but skipping tracks is a royal pain in the ass.
Oh! I hadn’t thought that it could be due to playlists, but you’re right. It seems that I experience this when I am using playlists. I will test out without a playlist and see if the same thing happens. Thanks for the reply.
Nope. I went to my music library on my iPhone, hit shuffle and skipped about 10 songs and immediately experienced the issue. Isn’t limited to playlists. Darn - was hoping you had narrowed it down.
This explains why this bug has gone on for years – threads are automatically closed 3 months after the last reply. Guess I need to edit my first post with more information and just keep bumping it every 2.5 months
Also, today I tried a new workaround - Whenever I skipped, I immediately paused the next song before it could start playing much. Doing this for each song, and every time I skipped seemed to keep the issue from happening as often. Not great, but so far it seems to work and will update after a bit more testing.
This seems to hint that if the song is able to download and buffer/cache a certain amount, the issue may occur. Could be as simple as the buffer/cache not being stopped and then cleared? Not sure as I don’t know the specifics of how the app and Plex work in that regards.
