Multiple Versions of Movies

Server Version#: 1.20.3.3483
Player Version#: 4.45.0
So I have 2 versions of some movies (Terminator 2 theatrical and extended is the first to come to mind).
In the past, I could match them to separate agents and they would act independently.
I have since “upgraded” to the new Plex Movie agent and now am unable to match movies to a separate agent without them merging.
I’ve tried adding the Extended version to the extras, but those don’t support sidecar subtitles.

Is there a workaround to get my 2 versions split back to individual entries?

The biggest problem with just splitting them is that when I play the Theatrical version, it shows both versions on deck. Once I get done watching the Theatrical, it marks both versions read. I don’t have that many alternate versions of movies, but it’s frustrating after doing it this way all this time to suddenly be stripped of the workaround.

If we could get actual support for alternate versions of movies, that would be preferable.

You should still be able to split the movie then rematch one of those using a different agent.

I appreciate the reply!
I’ve done this numerous times in the past with the Legacy agent. I’d split, match the extra one to The Movie DB and all has been good. I switched to the new agent when it asked me and I refreshed metadata on my library, which merged them as expected since it was refreshing everything.

I’ve split apart and then tried…
Fix match one to The Movie Database Agent… it merges them.
Fix match one to plex Movie Legacy… It merges them.

I even tried unmatching both versions and matching to TheMovieDB on one, then the new Plex movie agent (and also vice versa). As soon as the metadata loads for the 2nd one, it merges them.

It’s quite possible I’m doing something wrong, but I promise I’ve tried several methods and they merge every time. It doesn’t seem to matter which agent goes first or 2nd.

I have not tried to match the movie back to the legacy agent and then doing the split/fix match to TMDB. I will try that tonight when I get home and report back.

Hmm. You’re right. Looks like a bug. I will report that to the team.
