Good Morning / Afternoon Everyone,
I am having an issue where Plex is unable to determine which version I wish to resume, or start anew IF there are multiple versions of the same file. Bad case in point, I have X movie, I have it in 1080p format and I also have it in 1080p 3D HSBS. When looking at the webapp, as well through the iOS app, as well as the Firestick app, I am unable to clearly ascertain as which version is standard and which version is nt. Has anyone found or experienced this same issue?
3D support is different for each client.
This stated, your best recourse is to keep your 3D content in its own library. Not all clients recognize 3D at all.
Are you using different Libraries for you 2D vs 3D movies? If not you will find Plex a LOT easier to use and manage if you use separate libs for each.
Carlo
Apologies for the late reply and I do appreciate the input folks. I found that no matter which of the providers I use (Amazon Fire Stick, LG Web OS, PC, or Samsung App) each of them could not tell the difference between 2D and 3D. I have created a separate library for all my 3D content which did not fix the issue. The only thing I have gotten to work thus far is to set a different poster for the 2D vs the 3D content. I may end up creating my own image file to slap onto each of the items in 3D for easier navigation. It has gotten to the point that I myself know which version of say, a movie, is the 2D versus the 3D based on provider. For instance, PC navigation of a movie that shows two of the same movie, the one always on the right is the 3D version while the one on the left is the 2D version. I think LG was flipped of PC, and PC I believe also was.
Update
As I typed this I did a test before posting, none of the providers I have (LG, Samsung, Amazon FS, PC) will display the correct poster in the home menu. Only if I go the 3D library will it properly display the poster I specifically set for 3D content, otherwise the 2D poster will get slapped onto both 2D & 3D content.
