I bet if the owners of plex were android 7.0 users this would have been fixed a year ago.
Basically use IOS or GTFO. Most current Android beta crashes instantly on even trying to play music. Chose artist, instant crash.
Come Monday if this garbage isnāt fixed, cancelling Plex pass and never coming back.
Itās been a couple of weeks since the devs started being able to reproduce this issue. Has any progress been made? Any ideas as to what the root issue might be? Are there any logging messages that could be added to help suss out the problem?
⦠Anything at all?
Still not fixed on 6.3.2
Searching for issues I have with Plex is so depressing. Google usually leads me to one of these posts⦠thereās never a solution with little to no feedback from Plex devs.
Also, how is this answered? I guess thatās how you fix the problem⦠Easy button
Hate to bring this back up, but here is a quote from the CTO from back in June, saying that there is not a pathological issue they know about. And here we are one month away from the 1 year anniversary of this issue. But hey look over here Android users! Live TV, just ignore the horrible frame rate, we will totally āfix thatā. ![]()

If you have a sample file and details which reproduces, weād love to know about it. Thereās not a pathological known issue Iām aware of.
who have been bought out by a big corporate who have their own agenda
This is complete bullshit. Nobodyās been bought, and itās almost the same exact core group of people who run things, nearly ten years later.

Pathetic.
Guess this needs another bump !!
Any news ??
Bump. Come on Plex, there has been enough cases of this issue affecting a lot of users - surely it cannot be too difficult to replicate and fix.
Plex guys, we need a solution, please.
I wish you much encouragement!
Any updates?
@sixones @antoniolg @jesusMC are you guys at least aware?
They are aware. We were finally able to reproduce the issue recently. Yes there was a big push to get the DVR/LiveTV stuff into the latest releases that pushed a few things to the back burner. Now that the big push is done and we will get back to other issues, this being near the top of the list.

Please donāt take this the wrong way, but I think this is the part thatās getting under peoplesā skin ā Plex spending time on new features instead of making sure existing ones work properly. Paying customers with a very real issue with a fundamental part of Plex ā an issue that has been around a very long time ā donāt like being put on the back burner.

Iām fully aware you donāt get to decide where development time is allocated, but this issue is 11 months old⦠Much older than DVR.

Exactly.
Adding new features + new bugs instead of fixing old bugs on basic functions is just plain stupid

Not exactly true. ![]()
I understand the frustration, but for the first 10 months, we couldnāt reproduce the problem. It was just bad timing that we finally reproduced the problem just as the DVR feature was being released.
Thatās not bad timing, thatās inadequate testing. The issue is so pervasive with stock Android devices that it doesnāt seem credible that the issue wouldnāt be repeatable until nearly a year later.
Edited for clarity
