Music Playback Stopping

Another reason why I think it has something to do with deep sleep:
LineageOS has a function to go to the next track when holding volume button up. Normally this works. But when the music stops, it doesn’t work. I have to unlock the phone and then select next track…
@“MovieFan.Plex” I know you have commented on this issue in the past. Anyone working on this issue right now?

Already commented. Now it’s a waiting game.

They are aware. We were finally able to reproduce the issue recently. Yes there was a big push to get the DVR/LiveTV stuff into the latest releases that pushed a few things to the back burner. Now that the big push is done and we will get back to other issues, this being near the top of the list.

I read it. Was hoping for a new update on this matter. But thanks anyway!

It seems recent updates have made the app worse than it ever was. Now it stops even while charging. Anyone else experiencing this?

Issue definitely still exists, haven’t tried it on the charger yet.

That’s new.

@“MovieFan.Plex” Is anyone working on the issue right now?

Yes

The community can provide logs and specs of devices that the problem reproduces so you can quickly reproduce the issue.

For example, I use a Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 SM-G389f with Android 6.0.1 and the latest version of plex app.

It’s sad when you have to teach an employee how to use the resources they have at their fingertips.

Had a lock up this morning after the first track (around 7.30am) had to unlock my screen to get the 2nd track playing. I have attached the device logs.

Manufacturer: Sony
Device: Xperia X Compact
Model: F5321
Version: 7.1.1
Storage: Synced content set for CD card (32gb)

Last time I had this it was on also on an album which was missing cover art - same today (note, same album viewed over the network displays correctly - only the synced version is missing artwork).

Anyone else having their offline playlists removed with the latest update? 6.5.0.1737
The entry ‘playlists’ in the left side menu just vanished and no sychronized music can be found.

This makes me quite upset. Unable to fix the playback issue for such a long time and now even damaging functionality, forcing ne to use Google Music instead.

ah crap! Mine too!
I just hooked my phone to the charger and it updated it already. In the sync overview I see everything synced. But not in the overview.
Wil try to resync everything now…

Please let us know if you are able to and how

@watzko @MarcoKliko 6.5.0.1737 is the beta version. Try looking in the Android beta forum.

Nope, it’s not in the beta tab in the playstore. So it can’t be a beta. Or Plex devvers are messing things up. But I doubt that.

But I see that the link in the “new functions” part in the playstore is referring to the beta part of the forum. Weird!

Maybe @“MovieFan.Plex” can clear some things up here?

edit:
Deleted sync and restarted syncs. Everything good so far. Now starting a big playlist. Let’s see if it goes to 100% now. Anyways. By resyncing everything shows up in the rest of the app again.

@MarcoKliko it’s never appeared in the beta tab for me. Look at the release announcement threads for both the regular and beta version.

Latest stable: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/60585/plex-for-android#latest (6.4.1)

Latest beta: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/227996/release-announcements#latest (6.5.0.1737)

hmm. oke. Guess you’re right! Still weird though it doesn’t appear in the beta-tab in the playstore…
Bit off-topic. But the sync reached 100%.
Will try later to see if the playback stopping bug is also fixed!

edit: Nope, still there. Hangs almost at the end of the song. sigh

@sixones @jesusMC @“MovieFan.Plex”; Any update on this issue?

The problem no longer shows up after an Oreo update!
Version 6.4.1.1644
Pixel
I’s be happy camper if the “Android Sync Problems” weren’t still there :frowning:

So all it took was for Plex to wait out an entire Android major release cycle? That’s encouraging…
