I’s be happy camper if the “Android Sync Problems” weren’t still there
Lol, on my phone the sync problem is gone. Maybe accidentally it went well when I resynced everything though.

That mus feel good are you running the Beta release?
yep. currently 6.5.0.1895
Can you describe in more Detail what you did?
Deleting the local playlist and letting it sync again doesnt work for me - actually it isnt even available anymore when offline.
I’ve been having the same problem as the OP for some time on my Nexus 5X running Android 7.1.2. It appears to be related to the OS managing the Plex app’s battery use - by going to Settings > Battery > Battery optimisation and then adding Plex to the list of ‘not optimised’ apps I have been able to prevent the issue recurring during the last two hours of playback, which is a longer period between recurrences of this issue than I have experienced before.
I’m also having this problem on a Galaxy S5 running Lineageos (Android 7.1.2). Server, Apps and so on are all up to date.
This is very annoying. I was thinking about a Plex Lifetime Pass but this is a no go.
Some people mentioned Android App Pre Releases from the beta testing program. Is there any chance to get into this program or to get just the newest beta app? I’m a software programmer by myself so maybe this qualifies me for the beta program?!

Please go to this thread, so we don’t dirty up this thread. This is about music not playing well. Not about sync.
I recently signed up to the beta Android program so I could assist in resolving this problem as it has been annoying me for the past few months now as I have been travelling quite a lot and having synced playlists has made it possible to sync music that I want to listen too.
Enough rambling so…
These are the scenario’s I have tested that did NOT resolve the problem while i had the beta version installed.
Synced music playlists (mp3 mostly but also flac in original form - no transcode)
Android HTC 10 device
Bluetooth devices (car bluetooth, headphones, portable speaker) or direct play on the phone
I simply upgraded from the stable version to the beta 6.5.0.1951 (initially the build before this as well which was a 6.5 as well but updated today)
Music would continue to pause on random songs usually near the end (last 30 seconds) but in some songs it does pause in the middle and I have had the same song pause in about the same spot give or take 5 seconds.
Reboots of the phone, plex clear cache, reboots and updates to the server (Synology NAS intel 32bit) did nothing.
I have now done the following things since installing the beta to try to resolve the problem based on recent user feedback.
Server is updated to the very latest plex pass version of 1.8.4.4249.
I have deleted and resynced the 2 music playlists in question and as @ben@benjarman.info has stated Settings > Battery > Battery optimisation and then adding Plex to the list of ‘not optimised’ apps So far one of the 2 changes has fixed the problem so I am not sure if it was the resync or the battery optimisation change but maybe someone else can try and confirm if it is is the battery optimisation change?
Funny thing is that I also have battery optimisation to “no optimisation” for the plex app. But on my phone it did not work. Also did multiple times a full resync (for various reasons). But that also didn’t help.
So I guess you are lucky!
Yes, and I was being optimistic - my phone has now started stopping tracks shortly before the end again, though this is at least taking a bit longer to start happening within a given playlist.

Guess I will need to keep monitoring this thread.

Damn I spoke too soon! I too have had the music stop again so looks like the battery optimisation and resync didnt fix it.
Moto Z Play Droid; Android 7.1.1 Nougat; Build NDNS26.118-23-1; Kernel 3.18.31; Config F16.MOT.XT1635-01.0
Was listening to music on my phone today through Plex and this happened 5 times.
After the first few, I turned logging on, so I have logs from the last 2 times it happened (see attached). This happens whether the music is synced or not. Sometimes it happens just suddenly, while other times seeking through an (even synced) track will cause it to get stuck.
It was NOT to celebrate !!
But just a reminder to Dev’s to fix the bug, It’s been a year !!
Its must be embarrassing for them, that they are NOT ABLE to fix it :s
