Music 'plays' but no sound via Sonos (works correctly after pausing and playing again)

  • I have my Plex music connected to my Sonos.
  • Using the Sonos app, when I go to play music there is no sound.
  • The app shows that music is playing (the seconds increment and the progress bar moves across) but no sound comes out.
  • Once I press Pause and then Play again, it works and sound comes out.
  • Once sound is working I find it hard to reproduce the issue. Usually I find it happens when I first try to play music in the morning, then once it’s working it will play fine for the rest of the day
  • I have been unable to reproduce this issue using any other Sonos sources (eg. Spotify via Sonos, Radio by TuneIn via Sonos etc.), so it leaves me to believe it is something specific to the Plex integration

Attached are my server logs. The rough timeline of the logs is as follows:

  • -5 mins (very approx): Music played via Sonos PC app. Time ticker incrementing, progress bar moving, but no sound
  • -30 seconds: Paused and Played music (sound now working correctly - this is the last 30 seconds of the log)
  • 0 Logs exported

I had a quick look at the logs myself but couldn’t see anything obvious. Can I ask someone to investigate and see what they can find? If I can provide any more info to help debug the issue please let me know.
