None of my audio plays for Home Users/Managed users on NVIDIA Shield TVs, It just says “An error occurred while playing this item” UNLESS the main account listens to the songs first.
If the main account has listened to a song it plays normally for all Home Users/Managed users
I don’t know if this has any bearing on my issue or not. But I set up two Plex servers on two different systems, one handles all video (i9 nuc) and one handles all audio (amd 3900x). When I tried all on one server, Plex got slow and unstable, but I have A LOT of music
Songs play fine using Plex Windows, Android phone, & WEB
Is this something I can fix or is it a bug?
EDIT
I managed to side load plexamp and music works like normal for Home Users/Managed users, but it’s not a solution to the issue, because you need a keyboard and mouse to movie around in the Plexamp app
Is it possible that your server has never performed a [deep] analysis of your music?
i.e. did you disable the Scheduled Task “Upgrade media analysis during maintenance” or maybe “Perform extensive media analysis during maintenance”?
Maybe not. It was just a guess, triggered by the description

Just trying to explore possible influence factors.
I can’t confirm that. I tried 2 different managed users. One has the Download privilege enabled, the other has not.
I tried different tracks with each user. I made sure I picked tracks which I recently added and which I as the main user haven’t had already played. But they were both able to play each track every time.
* (Downloads) Download access now enforced on the server
via shared user settings (#12859)
it only effect plexamp for shared users, now it’s been reversed.
PlexAmp works without download enabled for shared users, and now everything else except the browser doesn’t
Just realised same issue myself (on at least the app on Amazon Fire devices). Enabling Downloads on the Managed User indeed works as a workaround . Thanks to those that found it. Still a bug I presume though, so hopefully @OttoKerner has a fix planned so all Plex users aren’t impacted and need to apply the workaround?
