Hi, I’m running pms on windows 10 and have remote access enabled With port 32400 open to my local ip He’s trying to access my sever on his Samsung smart tv and get a message server is unavailable Secure connection is set to always and I’ve tested the non early access and it’s still doesn’t work I can watch my server from 4g mobile data but not on my friend wifi
Sounds like it may be a firewall issue on his network. Have him check his router to make sure the port is not block or behind a double NAT.
Can he stream from another device on his network, such as a laptop or desktop? If not, it points to the network, not the TV.
Verify he has a supported model. For Samsung, Plex supports 2016 & newer, Tizen based 4K TVs. Earlier TVs or 1080/720 resolution models are no longer supported.
Double check the secure connection settings. As a test, change your server from Required to Preferred. That will let his TV use both secure & unsecure connections. You can tweak things once streaming is working.
