My plex server is not connecting. Says http://127.0.0.1:32400/web is not available

Server Version#: 1.15.8.1163-005053bb5
Player Version#:

My plex on one of our servers stopped connecting to 127.0.0.1:324/web. It says not available. I have removed the server from our plex media because it was showing up not available anyway. I uninstalled the server software and reinstalled it and it is still will not load. My 2nd server location has no issues. Just the one on our home computer. It happened all of the sudden one day last week and I haven’t been able to get it to work since. Please help!

First off you have the wrong port (typo?) of 324.

If you have multiple servers you should use different ports for each. I had the same problem until I changed one of my servers to 50000 per an article I read online - sorry I don’t have the link.
So one is 127.0.0.1:32400/web and the other is 127.0.0.1:50000/web

Assuming you typed in the url correctly on the server as http://127.0.0.1:32400/web, reasons for this to fail:

  • server process crashed (check windows task manager for Plex Media Server.exe process)
  • you have some proxy software that you installed or it installed itself (eg adware malware) that is getting in the way
  • Plex Media Server failing to start (database corrupt / port in use by another program)

Get the logs / screenshots of windows task manager / check internet options - connections - lan settings for proxy tickbox

Logs are by default here
C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs

The servers are at different locations. How would I change the server port if I can’t access the server?

Strange, since I started this thread, it started working again. All good now!
