Server Version#:1.13.9.5456-ecd600442
Player Version#:2.21.0
Windows 10 - version 1803, build 17134.45
I have downloaded the latest version, restarted checked port forwarding. I get the above error message via google when right clicking on plex media server and choosing open plex. Not certain what to do now.
You can also manually open Plex Web by using local IP address or you can open the hosted version from plex.tv.
To get that link working again, it sounds like maybe your host file has something to redirect 127.0.0.1. Check that and see.
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
How do I : manually open Plex Web by using local IP address, since the 127.0.0.1 does not work?
The host file only has the examples in it, nothing else.
I can get the media player working, but can not do anything with the server. I am still at a loss.
I can also sign into the web, but it does not find my server.
Thanks
Rick
Replace 127.0.0.1 with the actual IP of your computer.
It’s also possible that PMS has crashed/froze up. Right click on the icon and exit PMS. Then restart it and try using Plex Web again. You if you can manually grab the logs from PMS and upload them here, I can check for errors.

Restarting gave me the same error message.
I am attaching the log files.Plex DLNA Server.2 110818.zip (124.7 KB)
Wrong log. That is for the DLNA server, which is not the same. Please just zip the entire folder and send the zip file.
Logs.zip (1.8 MB)
Sorry this is the entire Logs folder.
I am seeing curl error 7 in your log. This typically means a firewall is blocking something. Did you open port 32400 in your Windows firewall? Here are the other ports that PMS uses, but these are optional. 32400 is required. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543147-what-network-ports-do-i-need-to-allow-through-my-firewall/
I have windows firewall turned off. I have the port forwarded on the router 32400.
I also turned off my Webroot firewall. No change.
Really frustrating. I had this working fine on another computer. After setting up this one and installing, no longer works.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Don’t turn off the Windows firewall. That actually puts Windows into some odd state. Leave it on and open the correct port.
turned it on, new rule allowing port 32400. No change.
I had tried turning off VPN before with no change. I did yet another reboot, turned off the ExpressVPN and suddenly it was working. I have found no easy answer to running with a VPN, so I have installed Plex Media Server on a stand alone PC with no VPN. Other than a slight problem with mapped drives, which I think I have fixed with using UNC names instead, seems to be working.
I would really like to use a VPN, but at least I can now access server.
Thanks so very much for all your help!
Rick
Glad to hear things are working for you again. I can’t help you with your VPN, so someone else will need to step in here.
