If this is iOS, why aren’t you using the App Store ?
or is that the problem?
As for downloading Synology, you’re far better off to go to the web page and grab it yourself manually

I’m on MacOS using a browser to access my synology device which is Chrome. My plex media server was updated on 12-2-24. I’ve been away and when I checked it indicated that there was a update patch to install on the server. I clicked on the link and it this is what was displayed in chrome. I just tried with Safari and it failed that it couldn’t provide a secure connection. On Firefox, it did download which seem that Chrome and Safari have turned on extra validation that is deemed an error vs a warning.
I haven’t reclaimed my server as of yet but is the service updates to the plex media server on DSM7 automatic or do I have to manually download and then apply ?
Manual. Download, then use Package Center to update.
Well @ChuckPa
Still doesn’t work and the family is pretty mad by now.
Think I need to re-install the server from scratch. How do I delete all my server entries in the cloud so I can create the server again without having to add it under a made-up name
The error message indicates the NAS cannot communicate with plex.tv. Therefore, claiming the server fails.
If the NAS cannot communicate with plex.tv, then wiping PMS will not help, as claiming will still fail when you reinstall Plex Media Server.
Before wiping your server, please try the following:
Verify the NAS’ IP address, network mask, and gateway are correct.
Synology Control Panel → Network → Network Interface, then Edit the active interface.
Configure the NAS to use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), or 9.9.9.9 (Quad9).
Synology Control Panel → Network → Manually Configure DNS Server
Configure the NAS to synchronize with a public NTP (network time) server.
If the NAS date/time is incorrect, then claiming may fail.
Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time tab → Synchronize with NTP Server.
Pick a server, then click “Update Now.” You should see a “Diskstation is synchronizing with…” message followed by “Successfully synchronized with…”
Reboot the NAS.
When the NAS has finished restarting, repeat the FAQ 31 procedure to reclaim Plex Media Server.
My nas has no problem reaching internet. It can update components from Synology.
It has the same dhcp updated dns and default gateway as everything else on out network and I can reach plex.tv from everything else, so please just answer my question.
How do I delete my current servers in your the plex cloud, so I can start from new.
Uninstall PMS. Choose erase when prompted.
Delete the PlexMediaServer shared folder.
Reboot the NAS.
In Settings → Authorized Devices, delete the server if listed.
Well, that didn’t work either!
Tried many times now and in different ways (giving new server name for a new)
I uninstalled destructively
I deleted both the content and the share under the NAS
Rebooted NAS
Deleted the old server from plex.tv/Authorized Devices
Still when I try to reinstall in knows all my users, my login to plex.tv and I end up in a hopeless situation where the new server is unclaimed and using the claim now doesn’t do anything. It tells me that remote access is down (but the port redirect is active) and tells me to login. If I press that link I will only end up back to the unclaimed server page (but the new name) and I am still logged in according to the system. This is madness!
Do I have to delete my Plex account all together?
Users are tied to your account, not to a specific server.
Deleting a server does not delete users.
To claim the server, use the IP address of the NAS. For example, if the IP address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/web.
For claiming to be successful, Plex Media Server must communicate with hosts at plex.tv. If it cannot, claiming will fail.
See my previous post regarding DNS settings, NTP settings, etc.
Check on all but still no dize
But we can close this now. Given up hope and discontinued my plex-pass and deleted the account
