Server Version#:DSM 7.1
Player Version#: 1.28 (updated to see if that fixed it)
So like many others I changed my password earlier today.
The problem is that now I can’t see my own server when I log in. Not even when i ude the local up:port address (i use port forwarding so the external port is not default) All I see is a friend’s server and stuff from Plex.
Furthermore, I can’t claim my own server or add a new server to my profile.
I can se all files are ok and the server is running on the NAS just fine.
Ditto here. Lost my server and keeps putting me into a loop that says “get plex Media server”. I reinstall and try to add movies and I’m back to the same screen. Any ideas helpful or do we just have to wait for Plex to fix?
I see my server, but even though I have a paid PlexPass, it will not show any of my local libraries. I don’t even have an option to add them anymore. I only see the streaming content they have now.
Uninstall Plex Media Server with the “Keep” (default) or “Sign out and unclaim” option.
Do not pick the “Erase” option.
Re-install Plex Media Server using the Claim Token option.
The installation process will lead you through obtaining and entering a the token.
After the installation process completes, point a browser at the IP address: http://syno_ip_address:32400/web. Your server should be in a claimed status.
Thanks for your help. I just tried this, also checked that plex still has all neede rights to the media folders, but no success…
The local website (local IP) won’t open.
Same problem here, even connecting to the server over port 32400 didn’t display my local media. I eventually gave up and wiped the Plex directory from the server, hopefully to reinitialize it, and now when I go to the server directly I log in and get a “Not authorized” “You do not have access to this server” error. So that did no good.
Everything was working a couple days ago, last I used it until the password reset stuff today.
Check Synology Package Center. Verify Plex is running.
You typed the local IP address into the browser, correct?
Clicking on the “Open” button in Package Center, using Synology QuickConnect, a domain name, app.plex.tv, etc will not work when claiming a Synology based server. Once claimed, you can use those methods to access the server.
Same here. New password - no server. Still able to log in but no access to most of the preferences. Also no option to (re-)connect or claim my server. Very annoying! Spent a lot of time on this issue today until I realised that the problem seems to be on the other side… Please fix it soon!
same here. Reset password (which initially didn’t work as described, internal server error) with the sign out option and now my installation is caught in a loop: add your media to the sidebar, but clicking on that will just show “get PMS”. But PMS is running, but obviously not logged in the account.
Can somebody advise?
Update: Found the solution in the QNAP subforum… just open http://localIP:32400/web and reclaim your server.
No chance, no even with the private tab.
Although the plex server app is running on my synology nas (DSM7), I cant open the local http://192.168.10.10:32400/web/
Ok. Tried on my mac now (instead of using the ipad…)
Now it says:
Am I just to impatient?
Have been waiting for 45 Minutes (ok. There are 2 TB or so...)
But I used the keep option.
