Plex was not showing up on my TV anymore. Plex took an update and whoosh, my Users were reset to NONE on which libraries they could view. The new format for Plex Player sucks, The program is riddled with Ads and slight of hand Pay Per View requests..
Am a lifetime owner of a subscription bought many years ago. I can tell you THIS is why PLEX has gone by the way of the DODO. They are running off the lifetime members because they are trying to refresh their revenue streams.
Never in my life have I had so much trouble. PLEX is going offline all the time now. If they would just fix it to keep a token on your system and remain off the internet life would be better. Very few times I need to be on PLEX away from my home. With data usage on phones being limited, I don’t do that. BUT if you turn the internet OFF, you are SOL getting to PLEX.
I have my system behind 3 firewalls. No UPNP. Needless to say Jellyfin is easier. EMBY is not so forgiving.
Answer: Completly remove all shortcuts, and flush all cache. Restart server, reload server and relink libraries to users. Lock out all Online streams and password protect with PINs. Enter a credit card number into all TVs with No money on it. Hard code the static server local IP into players..
