In NY Area the YES Network broadcasts Yankee games. They have the rights over national broadcasts. What happens is I set to record all Yankees games but it will record on TBS and MLB network instead of YES network when they both are broadcasting the game.
I end up with a “THis Game is unavailable in your area” blackout message recorded for 4 hours instead of the real game because it recorded MLB or TBS instead of YES.
A simple option for recording series would be to add “Prefer Channel” so I can say to prefer to record it on YES if its available on 2 networks.
And since I Know someone will ask why not just say Only record on YES Network, its because YES doesnt broadcast all the games. The local WPIX broadcast station broadcasts some of the games instead of YES and also ESPN for Sundaynight baseball. If I set to only record on YES then I will lose a lot of games.
EDIT: also another issue is sometimes it doesnt record double headers. Like today YES has 2 yankees games but my DVR schedule says its only going to record the first one evne though both show a red record dot. Is there a way to override the dvr “logic” and force it to record? Its so annoying that I can see there is a game going on, its got a red dot but its not actually recording it and there is nothing i can do to force it to record it.
