Need Help with Plex Server

I recently wanted to disable a temporary hotel TV from my Plex Account Settings under Authorized Devices.

I accidentally deleted my server. Following an old support article accidentally, I uninstalled Plex and PlexAmp from the server machine, and removed the folders from appdata (deleted them).

I reinstalled and nothing worked. So, I went and followed this article: You need to reclaim your server, but don't dare to touch the Windows Registry

This helped, and got my server up and running locally again. On the server machine, Plex and PlexAmp work great and can access the media. This is where it gets weird:

  1. Remote Access no longer works. At all.
  2. PlexAmp on my phone keeps trying to connect to the old server, failing, and then turning black screen,needing a force-quit of the app.
  3. I have to manually connect to the IP every time I want to watch on a different device that already had access to Plex or PlexAmp.

What the Hell did I do? How do I fix this?

Hey gang, I have figured it out.

I had to change the forwarding port number in order to make the new build of the server identify as a separate, different machine. For example, changing 32400 to 32401.

That fixed the PlexAmp issue as well.
