You might want to take a look at this post on Plex for Synology. Maybe there’s a hiccup that prevents Plex (local user plex) from seeing the content of your videos share.

By popular customer request and to improve the safety of your media, we’ve made a small but visible change to what PMS can do on your NAS by itself.
We have removed user plex from the administrators group. This was a holdover from DSM 5.2 when it was required for PMS to run properly on the NAS.
Now, with DSM 6 and above, this is no longer required.

I have a folder called “Movies” on my nas, and below it are several subfolders.
Why is it not possible to select a subfolder under “movies”? If I select the folder movies the whole folder adds. The subfolders are never displayed.
It works perfekt in my folder called Music.
