New accounts can't find my plex server

I have an existing account that is several years old and I created another account for a different computer and logged into that account.
For some reason the web app and the server do not communicate with each other on the new account and even though both are on the same computer.

If I switch back to my old account the server is connected like usual.

I have uninstalled plex server and cleared out my windows history and cache files and reinstalled from scratch and still will not find the server. If I log in with my old account the server connection works.

I created 2 new accounts as a test and both of the new accounts will not find the server.

Any ideas?

That is like it’s supposed to be.

Either you log in to the same plex account as the server,
or you are “sharing” the server with the newly created accounts.

Solution found:

I had to manually edit the registry to remove all left over crap from the incomplete un-install and 288 left over files in the plex media folder.

PLEX, is there some reason that you can’t create a uninstall program the COMPLETELY removes all traces of your software?

Your answer is not what I asked for.

I have a NEW server install, NEW account on the same computer yet I am not able to find the server on the local computer with the new account. After the new server install and logon with the new account nothing, but if I logon with an old account it does work.

I have tested this on 2 different computers and I get the exact same result.

If you installed Plex on a computer where it was already installed before - then all settings, including the plex account are still stored in there.

To erase these remnants, perform a complete deinstall using this guide:
