New video files - both movies and TV show seasons - are recently not showing up in Plex in Google Chrome or on either of my TVs. The files are on the server, and the files are playable in other applications. I see no permission problems. All file permissions match other episodes that do play. For a 3 season TV show I see seasons 1 & 3 but don’t see season 2.
I’ve tried rescanning the libraries multiple times.
The NAS is a Terramaster F2-425 which has been in place for months with no problems. All software appears to be completely updated and I don’t see any error messages in log files but possibly I’m not looking in the right places? I don’t know.
In my experience, this is typically a problem with the file names. For example, last night I had a problem with seasons 2-4 of a series I have; in reviewing the names it was “TV Show S02 E01.mp4” So I changed the filenames to remove the space to “TV Show S02E01.mp4” and they showed up after another scan.
And yet, Season 1 had that space in there and it scanned fine. No clue why.
Thanks. In the case of one season of a show I had naming problems. I fixed that to be like the other 200 shows and it started showing up.
In the case of the second show there was nothing wrong with the naming as far as I could tell. I reripped the DVD and named it the same way and it worked. Possibly there was something non-printable or some problem like that but anyway, as fas as I can tell right now it’s all fixed.
