Files not showing

Hello i’ve a problem, recently i install plex for movies, everything is working fine actually, i can see the files etc…
So, here’s my problem, i want to add shows (cf: House of the dragon), so i create a folder named Tv Shows and the House of the dragon so here the full path

Volume1/Tv Shows/House of the dragon/Season 1/House of the Dragon - 1x01 - The Heirs of the Dragon

According to filebot… But the problem is “Tv Shows is empty” so i dont really understand, and btw i have the same perm like the movie folder

Name episodes per Plex convention. Use sXXeYY, not 1x01.

/House of the Dragon s01e01 The Heirs of the Dragon.ext

Also, make sure user Plex (DSM 6) or PlexMediaServer (DSM 7) has at least read only access to the /Volume1/TV Shows folder.

Gonna re-iterate make sure your file permissions are correct. What you have should show up (but does not follow the recommended naming schema)

Alright i just did it, renaming just 1 files (same folder name, same show name etc…) but it seems to not showing up in plex, and yeah all the perm is read/write

You might need to Plex Dance the media if it was not matched correctly
Renaming it after being scanned isn’t always effective or when the media is on a NAS which PMS won’t see automatically.

Alright so i tried, moving the stuff out so plex can’t see it, renaming correctly like yours, cleaning bundles, and move it and still empty files

FileStation

Right-click on the shared folder holding those files → Properties

Permission tab

You should see PlexMediaServer has R/W

Check the box which says Apply to this folder, sub-folder and files

Now save that

Scan again

Alright genius, dont know why for the movies section it added the PMS automatically and not in tv show ! Thanks alot !

No no i’m happy haha ! I said genius in the good way xD sorry, i didnt undestand the fact that for the movie it added the permission for PMS and not the TV shows automatically that why i was confuse but yeah you helped me !

Season 01 vs Season 1 doesn’t matter but it sure makes it look a lot nicer in directory listings :slight_smile:
