New Install of PMS on DSM, Running, but Inaccessible

Server Version#: DS1513+ DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4
Player Version#: PMS 1.18.7.2438

Hello All,
Newb here… I am trying to get a PMS running on my Synology DS1513+. It will let me either install it manually or from the Synology package center, it will start up and say it is running, but when I click open, a new browser tab opens and it says there is no response, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

thanks,
-Brent

Sign out of Plex/web (upper right corner) if you’re signed in.

Open an incognito window of your browser.

Open http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web in that window.

You must be on your home LAN to do this.

Didn’t work. But I guess I must note that my PC is connected via WiFi and the DSM is hardwire LAN connected. I tried find.synology.com and it said it couldn’t find a DSM on my LAN. Sounds like I have a networking issue… ???

Nevermind! It actually let me in now with the method you suggested. I had just put in the wrong IP address

Well… now I cant seem to get back in… any ideas?

I’m having the same issue. I keep getting an error saying “there was an error retrieving content” and it keep retrying but it never works…

I’m really not sure what to do here because I can’t even access the Plex Media Server directly from the server itself (I can’t edit any of the server’s settings/configuration). What can be done here to resolve this? Will I need to manually download the next update for this to overwrite the existing version of Plex Media Server that does not work? FYI my Plex Media Server is running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

I tried logging in through plex.tv. then I logged out. then I tried hitting the server directly using the new Edge Chromium Browser. It let me in… still seems strange though

Try to access it again a few times (so it gets into the logs).
Wait 30 second.
Stop the server.

Open File Station.
Go to the Plex share
Navigate down into Library / Application Support / Plex Media Server

Right-Click “Logs” -> Compress to Logs.zip

attach that ZIP file here for me to see what is happening.

I got it to work by closing the Plex Media Server application, then reopening it (this allows me to access the settings of the PMS if I go directly to it after re-opening PMS). If I click too many things then it’ll just keep spinning and not load anything (which will require me to close then re-open PMS again). If I go straight to the PMS settings after re-opening PMS and change the setting to “Preferred” (from “Required”) and start allowing insecure connections then it will work.

This issue appears to have started with the most recent update to PMS on 2/19/2020.
