All 4K titles I just use DLNA and works flawlessly
I think for DLNA you don’t use the plex player from TV. Which is the whole point of this topic.
The app has limitations, I grant. It’s been a long time reported. I rather just watch when I can.
TV Model: LG 43UK6300PSB
webOS Version: 5.10.45
After enabling the early access, when I’m streaming a movie to my TV (via Direct Play) the subtitles are not shown for some seconds randomly. Details are in a similar topic
I’m having an issue where ASS subtitles, VLC describes it as SubStation Alpha subtitles (ssa), are not showing up, but they are working fine on other clients (Mac or iOS).
This same file also has a PGS subtitle stream and that displays correctly.
Playback settings on the LG:
While playing from PMS admin:
Playing the same file on the mac plex client app, you can see the subtitles come through:
Client version: 5.0.13
Platform version: 4.8.0
Server version: 1.19.5.3112
LG OLED65C9PUA, firmware 04.80.03
Hey @SE56, your advice to hard power off seems to have worked! I unplugged it for more than 5 minutes while I was doing other things, and I’ve been using the EA app since then without any reported memory issues. Good call!
Hi all,
Did anyone play Geminis film in 4k with Plex without buffering or little sound problems?, Direct Play of course. I tried with old and new app version but same results. If I play film via Samba it is played without any problem…so it is something related with Plex app in LG.
My TV: LG OLED 77CX
Client version: 5.013
Plataform version: 5.1.0
Thanks!
Very pleased with the Preview, but a few things that I’ve noticed and seemed worth mentioning.
When playing music, I find that if it goes to the screensaver, the navigation will freeze, and hitting back will no longer take me back to the menu. The only way is to close Plex and reopen it. That is the biggest actual bug I’ve encountered.
Additionally with music, I don’t like how it shows the Movie/TV background screensaver, I’d rather see the album and what is playing, but that isn’t a bug.
Also missing with music is the option for Library Radio, Time Travel Radio, etc, which I quite like having.
Thank you for your feedback so far, today we’ve released an update that will redirect webOS 3+ users from the existing public release to this preview by default, you will stikl be able to opt-out of the preview and return to the existing public release.
If you have additional feedback to share for this preview, please open a new thread using the webos-preview
tag with the relevant information, including samples for playback issues.
With the latest LG store update (5.0.0) this new version replaces the previous version of the app for webOS 3+ UHD users. We’re continuing to work on bringing this app to Full HD users as well.
