New media files not being found/added to libraries even when scanned or refreshed manually

Server Version#: 3.108.2
Player Version#: Roku TV App and Chrome Web browser

Following recent update I have added several new files and the server does not seem to be able to locate them or add to the library. Existing content remains without issue and can also be edited. Would love any assistance or support here. Have already started and stopped server service running on the Synology DS16J NAS. Thanks in advance.

Might this provide the answer?

If not, would you please do the following?

  1. Restart PMS
  2. Wait 60 seconds for it to initialize
  3. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs.

If you have a lot of directories (common with music), the default Linux table which monitors directories fills up . It’s easy to correct if this is the case.

What was the fix? I’m having this issue with TV Shows.

folders had wrong permissions as described in the link above

Control Panel - Shared Folders - EDIT the share with your media - Permissions tab.

Give user plex permission to read.
