New Movies not found since newest version1.25.3.5385

Server Version#: 1.25.3.5385
been working fine since install. recently added 6 movie files and they do not show up in library.
rescan, refresh metadata, optimise library and restart server do not help. I do not see any issues in log.
Any ideas what to try next?

refreshing metadata or optimizing your library won’t do anything w/ regards to finding media. That’s all the scanner (Scan library Files).

Assuming there’s no permission problem… have you already checked if the files might have been added but mismatched?

  • mismatched as another movie already in your library (=showing as different quality version of that other movie)
    → filter your library by Duplicates to identify if your files are “hidden” in your existing ones
  • mismatched as something entirely different
    → sort your library by date added and check out the lastest additions

In both scenarios you can investigate the suspect items using the edit dialog (:pencil2: > Info) or the Get Info action from the movie context menu (⋮)

Thank you for the response I really appreciate the time you spent. To make sure I did not waste anyone’s time I searched many forums and redit posts and that’s where some suggested the optimize and refresh metadata. I have not changed the permissions and verified that they are identical to the other files in the same folder. The files/movies are unique and are not similar/identical to any others in my library. I only have about 280 movies so it is easy to check.

Any other suggestions for things to look for? Once again Many Thanks!

There’s a lot of users who uninstall/reinstall their server whenever something doesn’t work… that doesn’t mean it’s necessary nor a good idea :wink:

As for other suggestions…
Did you actually apply the Duplicate filter?

Your guidance gave me an idea and so I i verified the mount point and realized I fat fingered a setting. I had a drive that was unmounting so I manually configged it to start up and while named correctly the mount point was off so that caused the issue. Thank you again for leading me to this point. It was very very helpful!
