It does match correctly with all lower case. Is this something I will need to update my whole library with? (please say no and that a fix is incoming)
Work is being done to make it case-agnostic
But it can’t tell you yet, when this is going to be released.
Well dang. I used a script to change the case and somehow managed to delete my entire movie library… Def not anyone here’s fault (this is all me), but damn it sucks right now.
On the plus side you don’t need to worry about that movie matching now.

OMG!
OH MY DEAR… so sorry to hear that.
I wish @OttoKerner had just replied “No. A fix will be coming” to stop you from kicking yourself…
Nah. They didn’t use the script wrong. That was all me. But on a positive note, as I re-rip my collection (I “only” lost about 100 movies), I am noticing that the new movie agent is picking up the metadata MUCH faster since I started using all lower case for “tmdb”. I will save my complaining to Plex for something more important to the users as a whole, like how many clicks it takes to delete a tv show on the Roku now… YIKES!
Yes, I understood. All I was trying to say: I would have hoped that a clear “WE TAKE CARE. PLEASE WAIT” from Plex would have stopped you from scripting this mess at all.
No pun intended to any side.
Since upgrading my libraries to the new agent, I’ve noticed a lot of Plex Pass Extras appearing in my library. I can’t be sure if it’s the upgrade that did it, but I’m pretty sure this is the cause.
I’ve always had the Plex Pass Extras disabled, and Local Assets enabled, so any extras that show in my library should only be my own hosted on my PMS. The “Find Extras” option is unticked.
I’ve tried a few different combinations of ticking “Find Extras”, unticking it, refreshing metadata, emptying trash, but nothing got rid of them.
Testing with a smaller library, the only way I could get rid of them was to select the legacy Plex agent, update the library, then update the agent again to the new agent, and the Plex Pass provided Extras would be gone.
Anyone else had this problem and found another way other than downgrading then upgrading the agent to fix it? I’m hesitant to do it on my main movie library in case I lose any of my metadata customisations.
I just tried this and after refreshing metadata for item they did go way. what version of server are you on?
Today I refreshed my movie library and 100s (maybe a 1000) of the movie posters have been switched from ones I had set previously to substandard versions. Posters I had manually selected have now changed to other versions. Not one bit happy I can tell you !
To be honest I’m sick of the posters changing over time so I’m taking this negative experience to go and download my own poster.jpg files so I can store this locally. It will take time but at least then I HAVE CONTROL OVER IT.
Thanks for the prompt response. I’m on 1.20.5.3600
Actually, I just tried it on an individual movie and the Plex Pass Extras disappeared. I think previously I only tried this on the library level.
I can work with it this way, I’ll just refresh on individual movies as and when I find them.
ok thanks. so wondering if the library refresh did not finish going through all titles or just not working at all. I’ll look into it. thanks for report.
Might also be worth mentioning that I upgraded my server version as an attempt to fix it. I think I was previously on 1.20.3.3483 (I’m basing this on the last version folder in my “Plex Media Server\Updates” folder).
I can’t remember exactly which combination of refreshes / updating my agents I tried on my old and new PMS versions, so it’s possible the upgrade fixed it and refreshing the whole library would work. I’m just trying to avoid doing that on my main movie library and my other smaller libraries I had already fixed by downgrading then upgrading the agent so I can’t test again to be sure.
