Got a new samsung tv this week and the plex app stopped working today for no reason?4

So has the ‘end time’ - I really hope this gets added back.
As for the interface, I think it looks great. Finally it get a lot of features that have been missing from the Tizen app for a while.
The only real issues I have is the one mentioned before - when I pause, when I come back to it and the screensaver is active I just get a grey screen and have to stop then start playback to get it working again, and the annoying clicking that you can’t turn off.
I think the interface just looks boring with all that plain dark grey…after more navigation I see now why they put the season episodes at the top now as it makes it easier for you to navigate between episodes. Maybe it’ll just take some getting used to but the way it was had its advantages too because when you go into the deck episode it puts that episode front and center…but I guess you can’t have it both ways.
Anyway there are things I do like about the new version, they put the numbers of unwatched episodes back and it’s easier to see…the one request I have though is that it would be nice if they could add that same number onto the episodes on deck, makes more sense to me to see that than to see the ‘unwatched’ icon because of course it’s unwatched, that’s why it’s on the deck to begin with.
Yeah, that’s a good shout actually.

Same results myself this evening
The guide is amazing! But please, for all things holy, can it be in numerical order? It’s just random every time and my older family members don’t understand you have to scroll for 10 minutes to find Fox News. I have it numbered “10” but the guide randomly will start with “1089, 1143, 15, 95”
Noticed you didn’t say anything about the gray screen with audio, when resuming from the screen saver.
Also noticed that auto play next episode only works when the video hits the end, not before.
I get a 10- 20 sec buffer before video starts. Even with direct play of video.

The “unplayed” filter in TV library now stays selected but also just seems to hide random shows instead of played ones.

Playing music… plex screensaver comes up after screensaver timeout. It should be the music screensaver with album cover
Would also much prefer having the orange bar under the album so we know how far into song it is

Rather than the constant buffering when I select a live TV channel from the guide, I now see one of the following scenarios:
- The programme buffers and plays
- The programme buffers and then displays “Live TV playback could not be started”
- No buffering, no feedback in the UI - nothing when I select the channel
- Squashed resolution
I’m UK based with Freeview (DVB-T2) from a HDHomerun Quatro. Nothing was recording at the time so all 4 tuners were available.
The Plex PC is a Dell R7910 Precision Workstation with 2 x E5-2650v3 (10 cores each) CPUs and 128GB RAM so not particularly busy.
Issues 1 and 2 were both intermittent often on the same programme/channel - retrying when the error was seen would see it resolve 9 times out of 10. Equally stopping playing and starting the same programme could see it fail. Example Channels: BBC1, ITV1, Channel 4, Five.
Issue 3 would always happen on the same channels no matter what. For example: Paramount, Sony Movies, Sony Movies Action, 5 +, Dave Ja Vu and Horror Channel.
Issue 4 only happened on TBN UK - Viewing the programme appeared more squashed than 4 x 3, almost half of 16 x 9 (8.5 x 9) - using Plex for Windows on Windows 10 displayed in 16 x 9.
I’ve not gone through all TV and radio channels - just a selection if the TV stations to see what the Live TV and DVR functionality is like.
Nice fixes, still missing a couple things from the older version and I can’t get over this 2.
The subtitles still look kinda bad, like there’s something missing, the outline maybe?
And the other one, the playback UI it’s just so big and it’s too elevated

I just want to pop in to say LiveTV no longer works at all. Multpile Samsungs attempted. Latest server, LiveTV verified working from Windows.
So the channels in the guide are still not in numbered order (lesser concern at this point). When you go to the guide and click any channel…nothing happens. Server logs don’t even show an attempt to start the channel. HDHomerun never hit. Just empty space. Same thing happens when you simply try from “Whats on now.” At the moment, LiveTV isn’t alive 
We’re unable to reproduce this. Got any exact reproduction steps? Are you sure the skip intro button wasn’t initially shown then hidden? It should be available in the player controls if it’s been hidden.
Are you sure you’re on 5.0.10? You can check in the settings -> about screen. The preroll issue should be fixed. If not, then we’ve missed something.

Thanks, we’re limited with some of the built-in text settings. We’re exploring alternatives to give the text a better outline to make things more legible.
Thanks for the details. Can you try disabling Direct Stream from your Video settings and see if that improves playback? The old app uses transcode only for Live TV, and we were hoping we can do some direct streaming here. We might have to transcode though since it’s seems to be more problematic on certain channels.
