I’ve searched for this issue, but have not found an answer yet. I have a new Samsung UDTV and am using the Plex App that is built into the TV. This TV is off-site and so always must connect via Remote Access. My Plex Server continually cycles the Remote Access on and off all day and night and I’ve tried everything to fix it to no avail. When the Remote Access is not available, outside connections can still be made via the Relay. The current problem I have is the Samsung TV App is NOT connecting automatically to the Relay service (when my Remote Access on the PMS cycles to the red “X”) and it comes up with an error that the server “is offline or unreachable” and says, "We tried to connect to 192.168.0.78 which is the internal IP address that the Plex Server is running on at a remote location. So in other words the off-site TV is trying to connect to ITS local internal IP address on its own network and of course it’s failing as the PMS isn’t on its local network! If the Samsung TV Plex App instead tried the Relay (and I have no idea how that happens) then it WOULD be able to access the PMS it at that internal IP.
So the problem is that the Samsung TV Plex App cannot connect to the Relay when my Remote Access is down. I have to manually shut down the PMS and re-load it, hoping it locks on to the Remote Access and I get a green check-mark.
All other remote Plex apps on other devices, like Roku’s, have no problem connecting the the Relay if my PMS happens to cycle the Remote Access to the red “X”.
Any help would be appreciated. And trust me, I’ve spent WEEKS trying to get a stable Remote Access connection. It just cycles on an off every few hours and I cannot ever get it to remain on-line all the time. I’ve followed ALL the help guides and suggestions. Nothing works. I suspect it may be my D-Link router, but I’m not sure.
