Just switched over to 3 Apple TV 4k devices and have a couple questions.
Is there a way to have the Plex app close when you put the Apple TV to sleep? If yes skip the other three questions below:).
Is it common after hibernation for the Apple TV to show no internet on home screen in Plex app but then everything else works fine until you close the and reopen?
Do other users experience force closing the Plex app by double-clicking the home key and reopening it causes the app to crash the first time and then you’re able to reopen it after that?
And finally if you put the Apple TV 4K to sleep while watching live TV and you turn Apple TV 4K back on later that day you’re greeted with a black screen or a black buffering screen and you have to back out of that channel reopen a different Channel then go back to that channel, is this the way it’s designed or is it supposed to back out of that channel when you put the device to sleep?
I’m not aware of any way to make Plex (or any other app) close when the Apple TV sleeps.
I haven’t experienced the “no internet” issue you describe. I have wired and WiFi ATVs, and very consistent Internet. I wonder if your ATVs are slow to get an IP address and Internet connection after sleep, for some reason.
To force close Plex, are you you double-clicking “Home” and then swiping up? But … no. If I force close Plex it’s slightly slower to launch, but it does launch successfully.
I don’t use Live TV, so I can’t speak to that.
Can you reproduce any of these issues with logging enabled? If “time” and “sleep” are factors it might be hard!
Thank you for the response yes I can definitely reproduce and was just curious more than anything else as I’m new to this platform coming from Android and Roku. The internet thing has only happened one time to maybe that was just a fluke:).
