I’m running Android and the plex app will find my TV shows but not my movies. I followed the directing and reloaded my movies but still no luck. It will find my recently added movies but nothing under the movie tab.

My movies are in my Plex server at home in the Movies tab but don’t show up on the app on my phone. I have deleted and reinstalled the app.
I am also having the same problem. Ive been searching forever for a fix but I cant find one I had issues sorting the menu too, but that went away by the end of my shift. Hoping for some more updates that fix this.
I had the same problem with my Series Folder.
Was able to solve it with opening/closing the app a few times.
You can also try removing and reinstalling the app.
Ok, yes I tried reinstalling. It’s a shame you can’t contact them directly and you have to rely on forums. I can’t watch my media now. I guess I’ll just wait for a fix sometime down the road. Thanks for the replies.
Have had a similar issue, the database file simply disappeared twice now. Each time I had a similar screen as posted earlier. I had to re-scan the movies folder and let it rebuild the file, takes a long time with over 1000 movies!
This has only happened since the recent updates.
I know this is not a solution but I would rollback the version of plex on my android before I re-scanned my files on my server.
Anyway it appears it has been fixed with android version 7.0.3(released this morning)
Please update the android device and post your results… otherwise 7.0.1 is the last (completely) working one for me.
Just updated on my Android, no fix. How would I roll back to 7.0.1?
goto plex.tv on your phone browser… goto forums… goto releases category… goto android category… goto last page… scroll to version 7.0.1 and download it(sign in if needed).
Then uninstall plex on your phone and install the apk you just downloaded.
I would also then set google play to not update Plex automagically, so it doesnt just update again on you without you sayin so.
I rolled back, no luck. Come to find out my server isn’t working. My media is there but the server won’t play it and none of my other platforms will play it either. I’ve uninstalled the server, uninstalled the media, nothing works. I’m at a loss.

I’m not dismissing your question but without more information, it’s a little bit difficult to determine the actual reason you have this problem.
On what server OS are you running Plex? If you log onto the Plex web console on the same network, do you see the content there?
It’s possible that you might have a permissions issue in that the user that the Plex server is running as doesn’t have permission to see the older material. New media probably gets the correct user permissions applied, which is why Plex can see your new stuff.
I have the same issue on FreeNAS after killing a Sickrage jail and reinstalling. The new Sickrage install doesn’t see the media, and it’s purely because I haven’t bothered to fix the permissions.
I am running Plex on Windows 7 on my home computer. When I log onto the Plex server on the computer I can see all my media. When I click on any of the media on the Plex server it won’t play it. It will recognize all the media and even the new media that I place in the folders but it will not play it. I can play the media using VLC so I know the media is good. No other platform that we use to view media can read it either (Android, Xbox etc…) Nothing has changed on my end as far as permissions go. I’ve been using this setup for years with no issues. I did go into the security folders on my drives that I keep my media and change the permissions, Although, that was never an issue before. Nothing has really changed on my end so I’m not sure where the change is coming from.
