So, I have 2 issues with the new preview (at least I assume they are in the new preview app as they didn’t happen before the app auto-updated on my XboxOne). Both deal with TV shows…

  1. When I access a TV show from my Library, the theme song starts playing automatically. How do I stop this?
  2. In the past, after selecting the TV Show, I’d then select the Season and the list of episodes would immediately scroll to the next unplayed episode in that season. Now it just drops me at episode 1 for that season. How do I get it back so that it jumps immediately to the 1st unplayed episode?

I also have this issue with the latest official version of the new Plex app for Xbox One X.

Constant buffering is finally fixed now, but I got occasional stutters/frame drops (usually every 10-20 seconds), and also some movies drop back from DirectPlay to DirectStreaming with some strange screen lines/artifacts and stutters all over the place.
It happens every 30 minutes or so, and the only way to fix was exit play, and resuming.

There are still some work to do on this damned Xbox app.
webOS Plex app works flawlessly instead…

I will also jump in say that currently my Xbox One X seems to have a stutter while playing for all types of movies/TV Shows. 1080P and 4k X264 and X265 MKVs. This didn’t seem to happen with the first version of this new App Preview. But after an update a week or more ago this stutter has appeared.

Anyone else experiencing this? Not sure how long I can keep going with the Xbox one Plex solution.

For reference, my other devices Apple TV (non 4k), NVIDIA Shield Pro, Roku 4k all work smooth.

Today, my Xbox One X automatically changed to the new PLEX app preview and subsequently none of my surround music content was being output in surround. It was only when reverting back to the previous version that the surround worked again. Anybody know why?

Could you try unchecking the Allow Display Mode switching setting in the app on xbox

Went back to preview and unchecking that setting had no effect. Then went back on previous app version again with same settings as the preview and surround works fine.

have left early access, app keeps crashing on xbox one
especially when i use trigger buttons to skip a track, it will skip one then you go to skip again and the app just closes.

still no go to album option?
no indication of what track is playing also? (you had the little graphic equalizer before)

Allow display mode unchecked, I still have constant stuttering, and buffering in direct play. It was fine when the first preview came out. I had to force transcoding to watch a movie without interruption.

The new update broke my Plex experience (stutter has appeared). It was fine with the first preview.

This might have been reported already but just in case it hasn’t…

There is a rendering issue when viewing TV series’ where any shows that have been watched don’t have the orange bar (to indicate they have been watched) until you hover over them.

Latest update has gone back to the grey borders and washed out blacks in the video. Looks crap again compared with other movie apps (Netflix, Prime etc.). Was good while it lasted :frowning:

Plex xbox one app quits after no more than 2 or 3 songs when shuffling my local network Plex server music library. Pretty basic functionality no longer works, what gives? How can I debug & resolve?!?!?

Since i have the preview in the xbox one X and PS4 i can not see my own photo library and hearing music at the same time.
I usually put some music and then going back to the photos library and it sounds while we were watching photos… Now in the same moment that i open a photo the music stops.

have you done anything with that? thanks

Two questions/suggestions:

  1. if your Internet connection is down, will the app still connect to a local Plex server?

  2. is there any support for 3D movies, especially 3D-bluray files?

I have all of my BDs ripped to my local Plex server including 3D versions. Currently, the only way I can play the 3D is through the old Plex app on my Samsung 3D bluray player so I am hoping this functionality will show-up in another newer app …

Found a possible oddity today. I have my TV library set to hide the seasons if there is only one. When I navigate to one of those shows, I am not presented with the individual episodes as expected. Nor am I presented any seasons to hop into.

I have to navigate to the top and select All Episodes in order to begin choosing individual episodes. I would expect the behavior to simply bypass the Seasons landing screen and go straight to the landing page for Season One, no?
