Hi
So I am new to the Plex on Nvidia Shield =. So I apologize for anything that may have been asked before,
I have searched the forum and everywhere else also.
Basically, I am streaming from a relative who is basically/literally on the other side of the world.
I am just getting major buffering. Are there any settings on the client side that would help?
I don’t have any surround sound or amps. Simple setup. The shield is hardwired and connected to a router. The download speed is 100 MB. HDMI from shield to TV.
Together we have tried settings on the server and the client side.
The server and clients are the latest and greatest
any help is really appreciated
TIA
100 mbps is usually fine. Their upload speed might be more of an issue. Have the server owner test that on their end and make sure they adjust their remote streaming settings accordingly
The kind of file you’re playing may also be causing problems. The server owner can look in their dashboard to see what’s happening as you try and play the file.
Is it transcoding the video or audio? Do they have a powerful enough server to do this?
The only thing you can really do is adjust the quality on the Shield
Under settings duplicate what you see here and see if anything improves
The latency in a stream that far away can be a problem you can’t do much about unfortunately
