Hi everyone.
Using Plex Media Server for a few years and never encountered a problem like this.
My Plex server is running on a Windows laptop, and media files are stored on multiple network drives (running on Raspberry pi 4 + SMB).
This has been the setup for many years.
I can’t exactly put a finger on which server version update started this, but it is probably a few ones back:
At first, I noticed it stopped recognizing new shows, I am aware of file and folder structure and name formatting, so I assumed there was a problem with the new files. But then, I noticed that it also showed some of my existing TV shows as “unavailable”, even though the files were actually in the same path and were in fact playable from Plex despite the label “unavailable”.
I tried the obvious things, such as - re scanning, analyzing the library, removing the plex library and re adding it, all the way to removing everything and emptying the trash, and eventually removing the appdata and uninstalling and reinstalling PMS.
Nothing worked, out of the 83 shows that I have, it only recognized 28 of them.
I tried installing other PMS versions, up to the point that I tried version:
PlexMediaServer-1.31.0.6654-02189b09f-x86_64
and now it works again and everything is recognizable again, so it proves me that nothing changed with my data.
It’s weird because I expected that if this is a bug with the few last versions, I would hear/read about it, but I never did.
I of course rechecked the drives permissions, even uninstalled Kaspersky as I thought this is what caused the problem, but I know understand for sure that this a PMS problem.
Anyone also experienced this or might have a solution?
Thank you very much!
