Next episode starts to auto-play in the background

My AndroidTV Plex player is set not to play the next episode when one finishes. Previously this worked. Now it still goes to the “next episode” screen where I have the option to play, but it actually starts playing the episode in the background without my choosing it.

Indeed, I am also getting this bug with the on my Nvidia Shield Plex client.

Same 8.3.1.19108 (d686ac64) Player Version.

I have auto play next episode enabled but I still see the same behaviour, where the episode starts in the background and the picture catches up when the countdown has finished.

I have found that if you go into settings / advance / “Enable new video player” to off the problem goes away.

I guess the bug is in the new video player module.

Yes, I played with it more over the weekend and found the same. I’m honestly not even clear what the new player gets us, but I have had it enabled since it first became available and this is a recent bug for me. Just started in the last couple of weeks and I have been running the new player for several months.

It seems the Android app has been updated to 8.4.2.19372.

This turns the new player on and and reintroduces the bug which it seems they still have not managed to correct :frowning:

Perhaps next time they may fix it?
