No EPG Guide / Channels

Server Version#: 3.83.1
Player Version#: Web browser

Hi I have been mucking around with Plex DVR, creating, deleting etc etc. I have configured tvhproxy and telly and they are working fine. I had all channels and guide working then I had to restart PLEX and everything from guide has gone now. I can see the Devices are OK, channels enabled and EPG (via XMLTV) linked up OK yet there is nothing in the Guide and no channels available? Amy ideas why? I have tried restarting PLEX and have confirmed the XMLTV file has data in it for the epg.

So, after running for about an hour PLEX started running a Guide update and that took about another hour to complete, now all my channels are back again?! Great but will this happen every time I restart PLEX? Any way I can avoid this situation?

going to guess it was one of two things, who your getting your source from for epg, or your running your server at home and sometimes things are just slow, or both. I run plex servers on dedicated servers in data centers and sometimes when it first starts it does seem to take a while for the guide to update, so I could only assume running one at home on a computer most likely is slower.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the reply. It was a couple of things I discovered. Firstly my EPG only had 2 days of data in it, secondly the Telly Docker I was using to get the IPTV feeds into PLEX only imports the EPG on startup. To solve my issue I added 2 custom scripts, one that downloads the EPG daily from my provider to my local share and a second script that restarts my Telly docker daily. Things seem pretty good now and channels are staying put. It is a little annoying that PLEX drops the channel if no EPG is found which means you cannot watch it LIVE or even schedule manual recordings.

Cheers anyway.
