HD Homerun Extend TV audio and iPhone Plex app always played sound with my Home Run transcoding set to Mobile. Recently after the latest iOS application updates my sound stopped playing over remote internet connections to server. It works fine on local lan connection to server.
Plex TV channels play audio fine.
Anyone have ideas as to why?
To be clear, this is a work-around for the broken way the new iOS app is handling audio transcodes from TV tuners and not a real solution. Your HDHomerun is fairly unique in its ability to transcode OTA TV streams prior to plex handling it. Most tuners just send the unaltered stream to plex and something is broken in the logic being used to determine how to transcode that audio stream between the plex server and the new iOS app. Since you’re pre-transcoding with your tuner, plex is seeing a different audio format, the logic is different and works.
