Interesting… then some other factor is at play here. If it wasn’t related to something on the backend, then I would assume all servers should be unavailable in this scenario. Alas, I see no obvious differences. Both servers are on Linux (the working one is on Ubuntu, and my personal server is on Arch Linux).
We do not support Arch Linux. If you’re using PMS docker on Arch then that’s different (to a point) but we do not package native for Arch. Arch was never vetted
Regarding the Ubuntu server, I very much would like to see DEBUG server logs zip which capture the client(s) trying to connect.
@kkh365 & All having the character set problem with the new app.
Is this the right APK for you?
This fixes the problem for Latin Extended A and Korean/Japanese/Chinese.
Please let me know your results. This is 2025.16.0
I tested it under the same conditions on the new app version 2025.16.0, and it seems the issue has been resolved. Thank you.
Thank you.
That mirrors our testing here.
Same issue here. Plex updated the mobile app on android and now it can’t see my local network server and shows the “no libraries found” message under libraries. I renamed by phone and restarted (which is english with no special characters). I checked my libaries and there are no special characters. Other clients on my local network (same subnet) work just fine, including iOS and roku devices. I won’t sideload apps on my phone, so I can’t downgrade the version to reconfirm it works on older version. However, i know it worked fine before the app update.
server: 1.41.7.9799 (pms latest docker image)
android: 2025.16.0 (from google play store)
Thank you. I was having the same issue on my phone but the second I removed the ’ from the name it popped right up.
Oh okay. I downloaded the app yesterday when I had the issue so I SHOULD be on the most recent update. But either way here’s my version information.
Client Version
2025.17.0 (1082)
Platform Version
18.5
Device iOS
My daughters iPad started doing this after the last server update to1.42.1.10060.
She had an apostrophe in her device name, however after removing it she reports that the issue persists. Does she have to uninstall/reinstall the app after that? Any other suggestions are welcome!
My phone does not have any special characters in the name, so that’s not the issue for me.
The PlexAMP all can access my server and play music. I can access my server via the web browser. The Plex App itself? No luck at all.
Edit: I found this one on reddit and it worked …
Sign out and power down your device. Power down your Server, then power up Server, sign in on device.
So I just revisited this. Android TV (FireTV QLED) continues to work fine, web works fine, but IOS (iPhone & iPad) haven’t shown my libraries since the big app update months ago.
Let’s get one thing out of the way: Yes, I have pihole on my LAN. No, I’ve not touched it.
Now, Plex for me is a Docker server on my TrueNAS machine. All up to date. And I’ve finally got my iPhone to see the library. Tiny, tiny little fix. So small I barely gave it a thought! The Plex server - in Dockerized form at least - accepts an ADVERTISE_IP parameter. On the advice of others I updated this from a DNS entry to that of the server’s private IP address without success. However it turns out the it does more than just advertise the IP address, it appears to fill a hole in a URL elsewhere.
I had a value of:
http://192.168.1.40
Which wasn’t working. A few minutes ago I spotted another post speaking of this, and it turns out it requires the port number too. My new value is:
http://192.168.1.40:32400/
On first attempt on my iPhone, nothing changed. So I force-quit the app, and reloaded. My library came back!
I have this problem with latest app (i re installed). Plexamp works fine.
Yes my library name has an apostrophe in it.
Come on plex, it’s not 1990 requiring hacks for extended characters! And anyway, apostrophe is in the ASCII character set. Can’t get more basic. You need to support full unicode for basic internationalisation!
