No Libraries Found

I have just started receiving this message from about 2 weeks ago. Up to then, there were no problems prior to that time. The fault is intermittent, as they come back and disappear again repeatedly. I try random actions such as rebooting the device, rebooting the server, reloading Plex, rebuild the libraries and so on, but nothing seems to fix it permanently.

I notice there are posts here going back to last month, but nothing conclusive that resolves the issue.

Has Plex admitted that there is a problem that occurred recently and are working on it, or do they simply say nothing?

Alternatively, is there a solution I have missed?

Also this. But assume its some update they did that requires updating the Plex server?
Anyone got guidance anywhere?
I have spun up a new server; but looks like I lose all meta data about watches, views, what was watched recently etc?

Start here

Minimum server version is 1.41.2

The new direction has the apps checking ā€œAm I Remoteā€ and then Plex Pass or Remote Watch Pass. So you need a near perfect DNS and Network configuration to function which is why your server logs will answer most of the ā€œwhy it’s not workingā€.

OP sounds like his cert didn’t renew and is unclaimed, but again logs.

As I said, the problem is intermittent on 4 devices we use. Today, for example, 2 failed and 1 found the libraries. Tomorrow it could be different.

I have the logs but don’t know how to attach them.

Unfortunately, they are meaningless to me.

ā€˜Welcome to our newly reimagined . . .’

I didn’t think people spoke like that any more.

First thing would be to disable ā€œVerbose Loggingā€ and restart your server, wait 5 minutes and grab a new set of logs.

Server settings > general > uncheck ā€œEnable Plex Media Server debug loggingā€
save
restart server.

You will probably have to clean up the networking, there are multiple un-configured adapters and it looks like a vpn is/was configured on the primary adapter.

Android device now working again (for the moment?)

Using WiFi for the server connection is going to be a tough sell with the new clients being particularly sensitive to network changes. Let it run and if you have an occurrence and can grab the logs within an hour it would show the sequence of failure. Can’t guarantee that Plex can put a fix in though.

I have only been using wi fi for the server for a couple of days. These problems have be ongoing for a couple of weeks.

LATEST:

Android: Still fine. Libraries found OK. Will ;look again tomorrow morning.

iPad: Libraries not found bur when I click on the Account Profile, watch history is there, but episodes cannot be played.

BTW

Many thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Minimum server version is 1.41.2 - I’ve got a Truenas core - was on 13.1 plex plugin, then I made a 13.4 one… and highest version I can get is like 14.1 or something… not high enough. How to get higher?

I don’t have or run truenas, what I can find says upgrade to truenas scale. If is a jail you should only need to restart the plex jail to update.

Latest:

Phones (iPhone & Android) intermittently losing and regaining libraries.

iPad saying No Libraries Found and shows server offline.

This is very frustrating, especially the hours wasted trying to find/fix the problem.

Does anyone know if this is a Plex issue/fault or not?

I’ve had Plex running successfully for years. within the last few months Plex just stopped working. I have a Synology DS. I’ve made sure my libraries are shared and that Plex has R/W access. My router is setup as before when it all worked. Whether or not on my local network, my TV’s, Cell Phone, Desktop and Tablet app just shows ā€œNo Results, Your library is emptyā€. I would really appreciate any guidance to get this all running again. I have no access to view on any device my movies, family movies, music and photos. At this point, I’d pay for support if it was available!

The iPad is looking for the server at x.x.x.31 and the server is x.x.x.30. You can try clearing the cache on the iPad or log out, log in.

This sounds a lot like what has been happening on my Onn sounbar. I have a Roku Premier that works just fine, and old Roku 3 that works fine, all my mobile devices have full access, but this Onn Sounbar just opens Plex and does not see any of my libraries. worked fine for over a year and then one morning nothing. Has been like this for over a month, started a discussion about it with multiple people confirming the same issue, and haven’t heard anything.

I am beginning to hate this software, which is not good.

  1. Cleared cache off iPad.

  2. Deleted account, by mistake.

  3. Uninstalled Plex.

  4. Reinstalled Plex

  5. Could not logon because of 2.

  6. Recovered account.

  7. Could not access libraries from Plex Web

  8. Modified Registry

  9. Plex web now all OK.

  10. No access to libraries on any device, even after reboot.

Can you post an updated set of server logs.

Client keeps looking for server GREECE at .31 and fails to connect which could be windows or other firewall blocking. Make sure internet is set to private mode. Big question is if your server didn’t change it’s ip address why is Plex reporting .31. vs .30.

In the Browser app or Plex for Windows check settings > look at authorized devices and see how many servers are listed.
