I have just had to update the IP address of my NAS and tried to update in the Plex app installed on the firestick and there is no setting? Where has the setting gone as there’s no way for it to connect if it doesn’t know th elocal IP?
If both server and client are signed into the same account, you shouldn’t have to specify the local access IP.
Hi Tom, so this will scan the local network and just find the Plex server?
Not exactly how it works but „kind of“ (close enough).
The server and clients use a common „broadcast/discovery“ feature that’s part of a regular network (unless disabled).

If you’re outside your home network, Plex‘s backend will act like a phone book, where the server announces its public ip address and clients with access to your libraries can ask for that..
