Hello, i havent been able to get an email to reset my password on my old account. I tried multiple time and here still i wait. Who can i DM or email to get my other account back? Thanks
I did the reset last night as soon as I saw the email. The reset process was extremely flaky…
- I had to wait like 10 minutes to get the email
- When I filled in the form, I just got an error
- I tried using the new pw anyway – didn’t work
- 10 minutes after that, I got the “your password has been reset” email
- I verified that my pw was indeed changed
They are surely having load-related problems still. Customer service will probably just refer you to the same resources. I would just try again later today.
Frustratingly, i am having the same problem. I submitted the “reset password” request several times over the last 6-8 hours. I have never gotten an email message, nor has it ended up in a spam bucket.
Side note - I had to sign into a secondary account to access the forums so that I could post something here ![]()
I have the same problem. I see no answer from the Plex team?? I got the email this morning and have tried to reset. I am not getting any email back. It is not in my spam either. Plex, maybe address us again with the issue and send and email to all.
The server through which Plex is sending out password-recovery links has, according to my mail server, been listed by the Spamcop RBL:
Aug 24 10:00:39 linode postfix/smtpd[6268]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from o2.sg0.plex.tv[192.254.122.79]: 554 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [192.254.122.79] blocked using bl.spamcop.net; Blocked - see https://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml?192.254.122.79; from=<bounces+954487-aed9-scott=alfter.us@em8792.plex.tv> to=<scott@alfter.us> proto=ESMTP helo=<o2.sg0.plex.tv>
I had to configure Postfix to whitelist 192.254.122.79 so that the reset link would get through (see https://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-whitelist-hosts-ip-addresses-in-postfix for the gory details). I don’t know what you’d do if you don’t run your own mail server, other than hope that Plex either gets in touch with Spamcop to get its server removed from the RBL or spins up another server on an IP address that isn’t blacklisted.
That was the problem! After I disabled all of my provider’s spam protections I was able to get the reset message. Thank you for your post!
Great work.
here also no reset mail arrives… i don´t use any spam filters
i dont use spam filters either… i will wait and try again later … i just got a synology nas and was hoping to try it out but i guess not with plex (at least for a while)
Update: got a reset email but token was bad so now i wait again maybe?
Same here. I tried several times and keep getting “the token is invalid”.
