I have tried all of the above solutions with no luck. Is there something more concrete as a solution as there seems to be a lot of people with this problem? I would expect Plex would be looking in to the issue to create a permanent fix instead of "workarounds"...kind of frustrating, considering I was paying for a Plex Pass solely for the use on XBox and have basically been wasting my money for the better part of 3 months.

Everytime I've seen this was due to the Plex app starting up before a user account was logged in. All I've ever needed to do was [Quit the App](http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/apps/how-to-close-xbox-one-app-or-game) and start it again and it picks up fine because it has credentials to log in with.

I've had this error a few times, usually when switching between Xbox Live profiles on my Xbox One. Usually just going back to the Xbox home screen, quitting the Plex app from the context menu then re-launching the Plex app sorts it it.

Took me a few evenings of swearing to figure this one out, hopefully it will get fixed in an update at some point. But I do think this workaround should be pinned, because its certainly not obvious.

Ive got this same issue after upgrading to 9.12.3 today. Everything worked fine before now it doesn't. I can actually use the xbox one media player and manually browse and play media I just cannot use the plex app.

When this happen to me, I reboot the Xbox One and my Plex server, then it's working good.

Not happen recently (usually i'm at the latest Plex server version on Windows 8.1)

I never uninstall the app.

I also always wait for the Xbox to be fully connected with one of the multiple Xbox account we have here.

(All of them register with different Plex account and sharing library on the Plex server)
